Triviadrome is a weekly multimedia general knowledge team trivia game played every Tuesday & Thursday at 8pm at The Backyard at Boca Fiesta & Palomino.  Tuesday night features rotating hosts, while Thursday's resident host boasts "Trivia on hard mode!"  

HOW IT'S PLAYED

Triviadrome is played in three rounds of seven questions each. The points (and theoretically the difficulty) increase each round. We'll ask you a question, then play a song to give you time to come up with an answer. Once you have your guess, we'll let you know whether it's correct. Didn't get it?  No worries!  Try again for half point value. And in case you're completely stumped, that song we play is at the very least thematic to the question, but often giving you a hint. If you're paying enough attention, the song might even give you the answer!  At the end of three rounds, the top five teams take home prizes courtesy of The Backyard!

SEASON SCORING

Triviadrome also features seasonal scoring for those who prefer a more long-term approach to winning. Roughly following the University of Florida's semesters, we run a season long theme. At least one question per night during the season will pertain to that seasonal theme. Teams earn one point just for playing, an additional point for ranking in the top 10, an additional point for ranking in the top 5, and an additional point for taking first place. At the end of the season, a season finale game takes place, where we play for charity and crown our season champions!

SEASON FINALES

At the end of each season, we play a trivia game for charity. Each player pays a donation entry fee, which is split between the charity and a cash prize fund! We also introduce WILD CARDS into the mix, which add a layer of complexity to the game to help you get a leg up against the competition.  All proceeds from WILD CARDS go directly to the charity.  Over the past seasons we've raised over $7,000 for various charities and non-profit organizations, including Alachua County Labor Coalition, Bread & Roses Women's Health Center, Alachua Conservation Trust, Gainesville Books To Prisoners, Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville, and more. Every team who plays our season finale takes home a prize package courtesy of our great local sponsors!
